(go to 'Major Fire Updates' at top right) During the bushfire season there are frequently
fires in the Blue Mountains. Often news of bushfires is greatly exaggerated by the
media. This link will give you the latest updates during a bushfire situation.
The buildings are protected from bushfire with an external sprinkler system using
the pool as a water supply. The system has proven successful as all buildings were
unharmed during the fire storm in January 1994 that impacted our site.
Our site is also protected by hazard reduction work carried out by the Winmalee Rural
Fire Brigade. We are thankful for the work they do in the protection of
property for the local community.
